Hello MAST!

Happy Friday!

The Mr. and I just returned from a whirlwind road trip around the Southwest! It was exciting not knowing where I’d be staying until minutes before arriving some days and rejuvenating to drive down open highway through deserted back roads surrounded by mesas and deserts (even if down one such lonely highway we forgot to bring water–oops!).

Sometime during the middle-ish of the trip we floated through Tucson and ran across a little reminder of home! In a cool warehouse district (think-Castleberry Hill in the middle of the desert)      I came across MAST.

Combining found vintage items and handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, etc.  artist owners Sofie, Tasha, and Mellow have created a space that is eclectic yet cohesive, with a strong point of view. And what a lovely view it is! Check out some of my favorite things!

Love the burlap covered furniture and handmade light pendants!

I need this horse lamp in my life! And look at that mirror!!!

Mast is a must-visit if you find yourself in Tucson!

And definitely go with enough time to have brunch at Tooley’s Cafe next door!

The mexican wedding cookies are worth it on their own!

XO,

Rebecca

Sweet tea is a nectar to my southern bee !

Ok tell the truth…you looovvve tea.
Tea can heal, comfort, and get the spirit jivin!
I know most of the people I know are coffee freaks, but I prefer the leaves man.
Tea has been consumed since before Mother Isis. And there is good reason for it.
It has shown through time that tea can actually heal the body and spirit.
Research suggests that women who are tea drinkers are 60% less likely to develp arthirits than those who do not drink tea. If you drink tea for many years there is a higher-bone mineral density in your spine. Drinking tea has even been linked to reducing several types of cancer.
The mixture of plants, herbs and antioxidants does a body good.

“The big class of chemicals in tea are flavonoids — a natural class of antioxidants that are found in many natural plant-derived foods,” explains Dr. Kenneth Mukamal

Here is a small list of healing herbs that one can use in their tea!

Another great aspect of tea is the tea pot. When you walk into someones house and they are a tea enthusiast , you can see their style just by looking at their tea pot. Below are some tea pots that inspired me. What does yours look like?

Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company. ~Author Unknown

Birthing the Dodekababie!

Hey Doodles!

Haley Here,

I hope everyone’s weekend is going superb. Just wanted to share a few things.

Last night the Atlanta art Cooperative DODEKAPUS!!!! Had their “Collective Concious Event”. And man….was it MIND BLOWING! There was a bike race, interactive art, circus performers, thai food, bands and pretty much a clusterbunch of mad art! It was an emotionally charged spiritual celebration of every person that put their energy and love into that building. I am honestly proud to be a part of the dodeka fam. Below are some pictures from our family and the event.

Just like all the people in Dodekapus inspire me everyday I get to go to my job, Young Blood, where hundreds of artists also inspire me with their amazing work. I am so stoked on the artists we have here. Here are some that we have at Young Blood that I am in love with !

Hello Young Blood Lovahs,
Haley here. The only blonde at young blood representin!
Wasn’t is gorgeous outside today? I am so ready for spring I could burst.
I had to go out and buy new herbs for my garden. I am also very excited about a fairly new veggie co-op right here in metro Atl! They are called ” Artichoke Bliss” and I hope other fellow atlantians will get involved. Here is the link to their facebook :

Speaking of spring I wish everyone would look up and appreciate the waxing crescent of a moon above us. Gods little toenail.

Sorry I am on a spring kick but I am totally stoked about the colors chosen for spring/summer fashion.
Pastels and Creams shine through and thank the goddess NO MORE BOHO!
Other trends are sheers, prints, and blazers. Tailored outfits are now in for men and women. I am seriously tickled pink.
Here is some inspiration !

I hope everyone has gotten a chance to check out the bike show. I am so inspired by the variety of unique vision of each eartist. Check back for all the other lovely ladies of the young blood :)
