Wow, longest work day in a while!
Totally time consuming for me, but great for you guys- I entered a TON of new tees, onesies, messenger bags from Happy Family this afternoon (not all of which I even got to put out!). My favorite of this 1146 item inventory would have to be precious astronaut onesies in lavender and royal blue. Come scoop them up before they’re gone, or before I decide to buy all of them and save them for future baby gifts.
I also had the privilege of meeting both artists for tomorrow night’s opening, and I gotta say, they’re both genuinely friendly and lovely ladies! Honestly, I’m not gonna smooze up any artist I’ve met, but I really did feel honored to meet both Ruth Marks and Sarah Watts this afternoon. Wanna know more about ‘em? Follow my links, and, even better, stop by the show tomorrow! It really is lovely.
G’night all! See you tomorrow!

Last night my friend Shana and I enjoyed a beautiful Spring night outside. We had a porch beer then made dinner together. We talked about love and relationships, our unrealized abilities to live the lives we really want, and FOOD!
We talked about how easy it is to overeat and about calorie counting. She’s done it in the past and I started doing it last weekend using “MyPlate” on LiveStrong.com. We both felt corny about it in a way because we don’t want to fall into the beauty standards trap but then again, what could be more healthy than taking control of what and how we eat? And I’ve already noticed a new appreciation for food. When I know I only have 500 calories to go, I really savor that taco/popsicle/beer.
Shana has a no fast-food policy and is really good about supporting local Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs).
She likes the East Atlanta Village Farmer’s Market and always hits up the Love Is Love booth for organic veggies and H&F Bread Co. , brought to you by the good folks at Holeman Finch. I went last week and bought some amazing cheese from Antico Mercante and ate the whole 1/2 pound within hours. (By myself, thus the calorie counting.) They even had a pizza oven set up which I will be molesting next time.

What are some other good markets around town? What are your favorite products sold there?
Let us know and maybe we can carry them here at Young Blood!
I will end with a precious photo of two precious people, my godson, Noah and his dad, Rick. The photo was taken by one of my most amazing friends of all time, Nelda who sent me the pic since she bought their tees here at the shop. These three have the closest thing to an in-town FARM that I have seen. When I go to their house I feel like a kid in a candy store except all the candy is sky high in nutrients. You name it, they grow it, right in their front yard. Hey Nelda – when’s my next cooking lesson?
Love,
Maggie
Recently school has been getting pretty hectic, finals are soon upon us. I’m going to make this a very short entry, I’ve got so much work to still do.
I’ve been taking a studio lighting class this semester at school and I’ve learned so much that it’s been spilling out of my head. Here’s what I’ve been working on. It’s suppose to be high contrast lighting and editing. But I think I failed at it
(I tried uploading the image but it won’t work)
I really can’t wait until the summer comes around. I’m moving out of my current place, which I’m really excited about. I’ve gotten used to living without roommates and, to keep things cheap, I’ll be moving in with a rommie. As soon as finals are through I’m going through all my stuff, giving some away, selling some and donating the rest. Maybe I’ll do a yard sell! (It’s such a summer thing!)
If I make some money I’m going to treat myself to something nice from Young Blood. Yesterday we received a lot of things from Happy Family. We now have a lot of their messenger bags. [I’ve got my eyes set on the Diana Camera bag!} I like Happy Family because they’ve got nice, clean designs that are affordable.
