I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas time. I started hearing Christmas music at shopping malls 3 weeks ago!? Time to get in the spirit with consuming too many calories, food comas, ugly sweaters, spending too much money, working late, and the fight over the tree.
Whether it’s silver and plastic or one you cut down yourself, it’s almost time to put up the tree and start putting out those holiday decorations!
Design Initiative Atlanta is hosting an event this weekend to benefit the Museum of Design Atlanta with the show and sale of artist-made wonderfulness!!!
It opens tonight at 5pm. Go by and check it out! I know there are plenty of people who do all their Christmas shopping in July, but for those of us who haven’t yet, this is a perfect opportunity. I might take my mom up there this weekend, they love stuff like that. : )

What better way to say I have a WHALE of a good time with you then purchasing a set of “Best Friend” whales from Mary Beth Heishman.
These hammered brass or silver beauties are hand crafted in Las Vegas and are made to appeal to “the little girl in some of us”. This makes them the coolest grown up friendship bracelets I’ve ever seen (mainly because it means you get to keep one for yourself too)!
Now that you’ve decided you want a set all you have to do is figure out who gets the honor of being your BFF!
I went to the Beehive Co-op’s new location this week and it was AWESOME! Beehive is the store in Atlanta that we have the most in common with (they sell all hand made items too, but theirs are all local or regional – here is their mission if you want to learn more. ) and it was so nice to see what they are up to! They moved to the Edgewood Shopping Center and the new space is beautiful and BIG with plenty of wiggle room for a relaxing yet stimulating shopping experience. I love seeing how other boutiques display their items and Beehive does a bang-up job. They have beautiful gift items such as hand made soaps, clothing, and gorgeous jewelry.
I got to meet two of the owners, Kanani Whack and Preeti Ayyangar, and they were really nice and helpful. It’s inspiring to see another business succeeding at a similar dream! Our very best wishes go to the ladies of Beehive; we wish you all the success in the world, all over the world!
