New Cara Taylor ceramics

I’ve heard it called many things, so happy whatever you call the 14th of February! Obligation day is the most recent one I’ve heard. If that means that you were obliged to buy a lovely card or gift from us then I suppose I’m okay with that.

My precious pooch is my Valentine, but since he can’t buy me the things I’d like I figure I’ll share some of our new ceramics that I’ve been lusting over with you, blog readers.

Cara Taylor recently sent us some more of her beautiful ceramics from her studio in Massachusetts including cups, mugs and vases. Check out the photos below…I’d be thrilled to receive any of these pieces from cupid, or what is more likely, myself.

Hand built “pillow” vases and wheel thrown vases.

I’m going to fantasize about curling up on the couch drinking a cup hot tea out of one of these mugs now.

We like pretty things..

Hey guys,

If you haven’t been in the shop in a minute we’ve gotten in some great new vendors’ work you should check out! Rebecca, our merchandising/visual display superwoman extraordinaire has the shop looking super fresh for y’all! The two vendors I’m featuring today, Cara Taylor Ceramics and Proteales Jewelry, are both talented ladies whose work I’m totally in love with.

Cara Taylor is from Northhampton, Massachusetts, and creates beautiful porcelain pendants and ceramics. We just got in some of her hanging planters, small vases and freestanding planters, any of which would make unique gifts (for yourself or someone you know…like me?).

hanging planter

slip cast vases, “seam series”

planters with drainage hole

Look at those perfect little scalloped grooves on the planters!

Samantha, creator of Proteales jewelry, hails from Hagerstrown, Maryland, and is a self proclaimed “twenty something jewelry-making addict”. Her pieces are simple and delicate, but still manage to be totally unique.

We only have a few of these rings. The blue is from a butterfly wing–the butterfly lived a long and happy life on a butterfly farm, and this was its gift to us after it passed.

Brass bow on sterling ring

“gunslinger” pin. This would make a great pin or tie tack!

Gee-tar pin!

Little bird studs

Little bee studs.

Hope you all enjoyed, come check out the rest of the goods!

Cheers guys, hump day’s over :)

New Goodies!

Hey all,

While there’s a lull during Crossbred Thread’s fabulous opening, let me tell you about some of the lovely ceramics Patti Sandberg just sent us all the way from Portland!

I asked Patti if she could send us some nautical-themed pottery, and boy did she deliver! Bear with me as the pottery itself is a little different, but we have new tumblers, mugs, and a couple bowls featuring either an an awesome anchor or whale design.

Whale tumbler (we also have whale mugs and a lovely bowl)

Anchor tumbler (same deal-we have mugs and a bowl with this design as well)

And menfolks! We have NEW WALLETS!

These wallets by Life the Real are handmade in Maine of recycled sailcloth:

These wallets are super lightweight and totally weatherproof; come check ‘em out!

toodles,

Stephanie

Happy Friday, bloggies!

One of my favorite mini weekend adventures is taking day trips and discovering new places. Last weekend, a girlfriend and I drove up to Athens to watch a friend’s dance performance and hang out for music and arts festivals going on throughout the town, and discovered some cool doo-dads that I’d like to share with you. We also ate on the porch of this amazing byob cantina-style restaurant called Cali n Tito’s (highly recommend the veggie cuban sandwich).

A couple enjoying their dinner at Cali n Tito’s (unaware of my creepin’ on them and taking a photo). Below is some of the precious pottery for sale at King’s. Many of the artists are UGA grads from the art program, and they were all pretty cool and laid back.

There was also another artist who was selling precious soy candles poured into vintage teacups and saucers. Perfect for a garden party or to light on the porch in the evenings. I saw these teapots by Jeanette Risco in Young Blood this morning and they reminded me of them.

Have a great weekend and stop in and see us!
