New Pretties

Hi blogger friends!

Since there’s no competing with yesterday’s blog celebrating our trifecta of awards from Creative Loafing (thanks Atlanta!), and those won by our fabulous friends (Lucha Rodriguez, Beep Beep Gallery, Eyedrum, Atlanta Cupcake Factory and so many more!), I’ll let you in on some of the new inventory we’ve recently received :)

As always, we have pretty things in the shop this week. Some newbies include Verameat jewelry, Mary Beth’s Art by Mary Beth Heishman and jewelry by Freshie and Zero.

First up, Verameat:

Verameat’s “Pint-Sized Cosmonaut”

Badass “oozie” ring–ours is sterling silver.

My personal favorite, the “Indians and Bears” necklace in sterling.

Next to bat is Mary Beth’s Art:

Super adorable and affordable framed prints of her art.

“Faux taxidermy” jewelry holders (we have bunny ones too!) in teal, ivory, candy apple green…

And another home-runner, Freshie and Zero:

“Lolly” Earrings

“Daisy” necklace

Congrats again to our fellow CL “best of” winners. Stop by the shop and say hello!

Steph

Beautifully Perfect Imperfections

October 2-24

This October, artists Faryn Davis and Linda Plaisted’s works will be on display at Young Blood Gallery and Boutique. Opening night, the 2nd evening in October at 7 p.m., art enthusiasts and Saturday night thrill seekers alike can take in pieces “inspired by the beauty and mystery of the natural world and all of its lost things, fragile things, and imperfectly beautiful things,” while enjoying beer and wine. Both small intimate works exploring the natural world, featuring what Davis describes as “animals and birds in dreamlike and lost settings”, as well as new, larger scaled pieces will be displayed. The exposition’s other leading lady, Linda Plaisted, is a “pioneer in contemporary photographic illustration and photomontage”. Her “’Luna Park’ series of carnival and amusement park images is a dreamy look back at hot summer days of ferris wheels, cotton candy and sweaty palms grabbing for the merry-go-round’s brass ring.” Her works can been seen in Standard & Poor’s, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and Marc Jacobs, Inc. just to name a few.

Group “Home Show”

December 4-26

Opening Saturday 7-11pm

Also the ladies of the Indie Craft Experience, Shannon Mulkey of Patina and Christy Petterson of a bardis, will be having a trunk show that night during the opening! Festive music and cocktails also!

new neck candy!

Good Morning!
I want to bring to your attention these amazing new necklaces we have in the shop!

Hand painted lockets from Khara Ledonne, house gorgeously rendered paintings. They are like little surprises/secrets to wear around your neck!

Khara is super sweet and mega talented, and I thought I knew how beautiful they’d be from seeing them online, but they just blew me away in person!
Her attention to detail on such a tiny space is very impressive;
come by and see her work in person!

have a good week everyone!
